The Gender Justice Indonesia project is a collaboration between the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and the Social Trust Fund – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (STF UIN Jakarta). We are currently seeking a Senior Research Fellow to join the Indonesia hub of the project. This position will support the research, dialogue, and public engagement components of the Indonesia case. The project aims to contribute both theoretically and practically to development policies by enhancing understanding of how gender justice actors operate at the intersection of religion, human rights, and activism.
Position Overview
-Duration: 1 year, starting August 2025, with possibility of extension
-Workload: Part-time
-Location: Based in Jakarta, with possible short travel for fieldwork and workshops
-Funding: Honorarium-based (part-time), plus travel and activity costs for project tasks
-Supervisor: Prof. Amelia Fauzia (Country Hub Director)
Eligibility Criteria:
-PhD degree in social sciences, religious studies, gender studies, or related fields
-Strong publication track record, preferably in English-language international journals
-Demonstrated experience in policy research or civil society engagement
-Familiarity with gender and religion issues in the Indonesian context
-Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
-High motivation and availability for flexible engagement over 12 months
